HOUSING LEGAL ADVICE SERVICE

FOR WARRINGTON & HALTON

  • IS YOUR LANDLORD SEEKING POSSESSION?
  • ARE YOU FACING EVICTION?
  • HAVE YOU BEEN UNLAWFULLY EVICTED?
  • ARE YOU HOMELESS OR THREATENED WITH HOMELESSNESS?
  • DO YOU NEED ADVICE ON AN URGENT HOUSING ISSUE?
  • DO YOU KNOW THAT LEGAL AID IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR URGENT HOUSING ISSUES?

Your home may be the most important asset you will ever have and losing it can be the most traumatic experience you will ever know.

Legal Aid is still available for urgent housing issues including Possession and Homelessness.  Legal Aid can provide you with the legal advice and representation, including representation in Court, to help you stop possession or to help you to obtain a home.  Legal Aid remains subject to eligibility i.e. you must be on a low income and/or in receipt of welfare benefits.

If your Landlord (private or social) has given you a Notice Seeking Possession on grounds of Rent Arrears or other breach of tenancy such as Anti-Social Behaviour or if you are homeless or threatened with homelessness because of possession action or your home has serious disrepair which is impacting your health, then you need urgent Specialist Housing Advice.  Our experienced Social Welfare Housing Lawyers can advise, assist and represent you provided you are eligible for Legal Aid.

We believe that we all have a right to live in a decent home and we are committed to helping the fight against increasing levels of poverty that can often result in homelessness.  We do this best by providing access to Social Welfare Justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.  We also do it best by providing a holistic specialist Legal Housing Advice Service that helps you to access, where appropriate, and with your agreement, those ongoing support services that can help you maintain your home in the longer term.

The last few years has seen many advice centres and legal services close due to cuts in funding and many areas across the country have become what has been called ‘Advice Deserts’. We are pleased to be involved in restoring the balance and bringing new Housing Advice services across the Liverpool City Region.

We act for Tenants of both private and social housing Landlords, for Occupiers and for those who are Homeless.

We do not act for Landlords.

We are only able to assist if you qualify for legal aid. Please check your eligibility here.
